This funnel has a wider stem (9 mm) o.d.) than the usual funnels and allows quick and neat transfer of substances in general and is especially useful for charging of the Carius tubes with solids and liquids. Instead of the common cone shape, the upper portion is cylinder-shaped and stays more readily upright when used. An especially useful feature is that an inverted flask may be set in it for more complete transfer of liquid while attending to other tasks.
